Apple wired Mighty Mouse

  • Nice simple design.
  • It has that Apple feel to it.
  • Setup is extremely easy via System Preferences.
  • No extra software required.
  • Cool features via extra buttons.
  • It could use more buttons, though.
  • No 'back' and 'forward' buttons like on most other mice.
  • I sometimes inadvertently activate the side 'squeeze' buttons.
  • The 360-degree scroll ball is very convenient.
  • However, the scroll ball rarely gets stuck.
  • Nice accurate tracking; no problems whatsoever.
  • Touch-sensitive buttons can sometimes be annoying.
  • Buttons are pretty quiet.
  • USB cable is short, but it's not a problem with the right setup.

Summary: The wired Mighty Mouse is a good mouse. Using touch-sensitive buttons, it's definitely not the mouse for everyone. If you are used to the feel of Apple's mice and like extra functionality in a sleek package, then the Mighty Mouse is probably the right choice. Already an obvious note, this mouse works beautifully with Mac OS X and its features.

Purchase: Apple Store

Awesome review keep up the great work. I love that you keep it short and simple just like how you said. I don't need it to be really complicated.

I think this is an interesting blog idea and I see this blog taking off very soon. Good job!

One suggestion I have is: dictate Pros/Cons. A huge list with mixed pros and cons is not easy to read and can get confusing.

Great idea and keep it up!

I read lots of reviews on it that said that the scroll-ball stops functioning properly after a while because of dust, and what not. Any ideas David?

good job it is just like you said on youtube. One thing is youcould make a dedicated pro con section.

I got my Apple Mighty Mouse this week. It works perfectly with my slim Apple Keyboard and OS X Tiger.

Regarding the "dust" issues, Apple advise turning the mouse upside down and rolling it gently on a lint-free cloth.

Good idea for a blog. I look forward to future posts.

I really cant get into the apple mice, I love apple, but they really do a horrible job at making mice, I recommend buying a microsoft mouse for your mac or another 3rd party windows mouse, trust me you will be happy you did,

The Mighty Mouse cable is longer when you buy it in the box rather than it coming with a computer
